About Rio West University
Purpose
Rio West University is an educational ministry of Rio West Community Church focusing on delivering quality Christian education to members of Rio West Community Church and community members at large, with the following outcomes taken from the Scriptures:
…for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ. Ephesians 4.12
…admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. Colossians 1.28
Delivery Methods
Four delivery methods have surfaced to date (others may be implemented in the future):
- 1. FAQ Sessions: Quick, topical study that is meant to equip believers in the basics of the faith, using the familiar, everyday format of FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions).
- 2. Seminars: Formal courses which usually meet on Sundays from 8.30a to 9.30a and which generally run for about 10-15 weeks.
- 3. Presentations: One to two-day sessions focusing on a particular topic of interest. Presenters may be members of RWCC or guest speakers.
- 4. Great Commission Leadership Institute (GCLI): A two-year Great Commission Churches (GCC) program designed to train pastor/elders.
